Samsung’s next folders will benefit from much higher internal storage

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 will benefit from a higher storage capacity if we are to believe the SamMobile site, which announces that it has exclusive information on the brand’s next smartphones.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 are among the most anticipated smartphones of this end of the year. Supposed to be revealed during the usual Unpacked, we don’t yet know so much about what new features these devices will bring. But according to SamMobile one thing is sure and certain: they will be entitled to more storage this year.

New models in sight

According to the site, which claims to have exclusive information on the Korean company’s future smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 will now be available with 512 GB of internal storage. This represents a significant leap compared to its predecessor which stopped at 256 GB of storage. The Z Fold 4 would also be affected by this increase and would offer for the first time a model with 1 TB of storage at launch.

A higher price for the model with the largest capacity

There is already a 1TB variant for the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. This novelty is good news for people with large storage needs since the brand no longer offers a microSD slot on its premium smartphones. This should also mechanically lead to an increase in the price of the most expensive model in the range.

For the moment, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 capped respectively at 1109 euros for 256 GB of storage and 1899 euros for 512 GB. We can reasonably expect an increase of 50 to 100 additional euros for the model with storage the highest, which would place the Z Fold 4 with the highest configuration just under the 2000 euro mark (if we expect prices that are substantially identical to last year).

These two models are expected next August to succeed the Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3. The Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 would also benefit from a less visible fold this time around. We should learn more as we get closer to their announcement. Samsung’s latest folding models were made official on August 11, 2021, so the presentation of these smartphones could take place around the same date.
