Swipe at Thomas Gottschalk’s “Wetten, dass ..?” Comeback

Last Saturday evening “The Masked Singer” ran as a competition program for “Wetten, dass ..?”. On this evening, of all times, Samuel Koch was exposed as a costumed singer on the show.
Most of them had already suspected it: Actor Samuel Koch, 34, was actually under the phoenix costume on “The Masked Singer”. In the previous episode on ProSieben (Saturday, November 7, 2021), Samuel had to leave the show and was thus at the end also exposed. It “only” reached seventh place, but it was definitely one of the most emotional revelations ever.

And so it was actually a coincidence that Samuel Koch took off his costume on the very day when the brilliant anniversary show of “Wetten, dass ..?” ran and put “The Masked Singer” in the shade with almost 14 million viewers. But honestly, which program could have kept up with Thomas Gottschalks, 71, big comeback?

Samuel Koch didn’t care much about this anyway. At “Bild” he gave a little swipe in the direction of “Wetten, dass ..?”: “To be honest, I didn’t think about that. That would be schadenfreude. I was rather happy that I was here was at ‘The Masked Singer’ and not anywhere else. “

Samuel Koch joined “Wetten, dass ..?” In 2010 as a competitor. and is seriously injured when jumping over a moving car. Since then he has been paraplegic from the neck down and has been in a wheelchair. As a result, Thomas Gottschalk ended his time as the presenter of “Wetten, dass ..?” At the end of 2011. The show paused before returning with Markus Lanz, 52, in 2012 and discontinuing two years later.
