Samurai Maiden will be released on December 8 on PC, Switch and PlayStation consoles

D3 Publisher’s next action game is called Samurai Maiden and will be developed by Shade, the team that came up with Bullet Girls Phantasia or Kandagawa Jet Girls. Announced this summer, no later than August, the title already finds its release date set for December, the developers having taken advantage of the Tokyo Game Show to announce it.

Several characters featured

This release date announcement comes with a (long) trailer, which plays between a humorous tone and a fairly comprehensive overview. The objective is to present the historical period that will take place in a feudal Japan under the Sengoku era and then to present the different characters. We see the heroine, Tsumugi Tamaori, propelled several centuries earlier, but also Nobunaga Odawho seems to serve as a boss (and who will notably be dubbed by Takaya Kuroda, the actor of Kazuma Kiryu (Yakuza).

The title will feature a predominantly female cast, with Shingen Takeda and Kenshin Uesugi being shown for the first time, and other faces we’ve seen before, including Iyo, Hagane, and Komimi. Each will have their favorite weapon, but the roster will mainly be there for fan service, since to improve their abilities, a kiss with an ally is certainly the best way.

Samurai Maiden is scheduled for December 8, 2022 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. A physical version has been announced for Japan but in Europe, the title is currently only planned in digital.
