A member of the government will soon discover the joys of motherhood. This is Sarah El Haïry who has been carrying a girl in her womb for eight months. The current Secretary of State for Biodiversity, who continues to exercise her functions during her pregnancy, resorted to medically assisted procreation (MAP) alongside her partner, Pauline. The 34-year-old politician is happy to become a mother, expressed in particular in the columns of Paris Matchthis Thursday, November 30: “I can’t wait to meet her. Can’t wait to see how she takes her place in our family.”
However, this childhood project was initially mentioned as a joke. “Both of us parents? It would be an organizational disaster”they said to themselves, according to comments reported by Pauline, already a mother of two children. “I remember this discussion. We were in the bathroom. We were talking and we said: ‘Actually, yeah!'”, added Sarah El Haïry to our colleagues. The couple therefore embarked on the process, carrying out a series of administrative and medical appointments in the Paris region, with the aim of having recourse to a PMApractice authorized in France, for lesbian couples and single women, since August 2021.
Sarah El Haïry: a baby present at the ministry?
Pauline and Sarah El Haïry are both linked by the notion ‘commitment’, ‘in blood’, on a daily basis, through their professional activities and family histories. But, the arrival of a baby will change their habits and lead to reorganization. This is why the two women in love are still looking for a nanny to look after the unborn baby.
