Sarah Ferguson feels more connected to King Charles than ever during these times. Both are suffering from cancer. In a moving speech at a charity event, she addressed touching words to her former brother-in-law.

The year began with for the British royal family several setbacks. After both Catherine, Princess of Wales, 42, and King Charles, 75, underwent procedures at the London Clinic, Sarah Ferguson, 64, announced at the end of January that she had skin cancer. Just a few days later, Buckingham Palace made Charles’ cancer diagnosis public. The family is now moving closer together. Prince Andrew’s ex-wife, 63, shows this once again when she speaks about her ex-brother-in-law at a public appearance.

Sarah Ferguson wishes King Charles “all the best”

The 64-year-old gave a passionate speech on the topic of cancer and prevention at a charity event organized by the Cancer Alliance of Help and Hope at The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. In a video shared on Instagram by a guest at the event, she thanked the organization for supporting her family and gave words of encouragement to King Charles.

“I want to thank you all for your kindness in supporting my family members who are going through a difficult time. And we wish every family in the world who has received a diagnosis or is going through a difficult time all the best,” said the book author before appealing to Charles: “And of course we also wish my brother-in-law all the best, keep fighting!”

Sarah Ferguson suffers from cancer for the second time

Sarah Ferguson received her second cancer diagnosis in a year. Before being diagnosed with melanoma in January, she was treated for breast cancer last summer and underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.

During these times she receives support primarily from her two daughters, Princess Beatrice, 35, and Princess Eugenie, 33. “They support me through thick and thin, not least through my recent illness,” she explained in an interview with “Hello”. “We call ourselves ‘The Tripod’ because we support each other, come what may.
