Sarah Ferguson speaks out after Kate’s cancer video message. She was “full of admiration.”

After Princess Kate (42) made her cancer diagnosis public last Friday (March 22nd), Sarah Ferguson (64) has now also spoken out. The ex-wife of Prince Andrew (64), one of the sons of the late Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022), published via Instagram a statement with open and loving words for Kate. “All my thoughts and prayers are with the Princess of Wales as she begins her treatment. I know she will be surrounded by the love of her family and everyone is praying for the best outcome,” begins “Fergie”, her nickname, her post.

Ferguson recently had to fight her own “battles with cancer”. Last year she had to undergo surgery because of a breast cancer diagnosis. She was diagnosed with aggressive skin cancer in January. She has also been open about her illness since then and is therefore “full of admiration” for Kate and “for the way in which she spoke publicly about her diagnosis”.

She knows it will help raise awareness of this disease. She now wishes Kate and her family “the time, space and privacy to heal.”

Tough times for the British royals

Kate came forward last Friday (March 22) with a longer video message to the public that shocked the whole world. In it, she explained that she had been diagnosed with cancer following major abdominal surgery in January and was now undergoing treatment.

And also with her father-in-law, King Charles III. (75) was diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of the year after prostate surgery. He was one of the first to respond to Kate’s video message: “His Majesty is so proud of Catherine for her courage to speak out the way she did.” Charles is also currently undergoing cancer treatment.
