Sarah Jessica Parker is once again asked about Kim Cattrall – and speaks thoughtfully and sadly about the broken friendship.
Sarah Jessica Parker (56) has in the Andy Cohen’s Late Night Show (53) talked about the “Sex and the City” spin-off “And Just Like That…” – and once again about her relationship with Kim Cattrall (65).
“People withdraw even if you don’t want to”
The host praised the show for handling the absence of the character Samantha Jones. Sarah Jessica Parker then clarified: “Samantha is not gone. The actress who played the role is no longer playing her – but people withdraw from your life even if you don’t want them to.” She thinks this part of the plot represents a lot of friendships that are challenging and marked by struggles, but in which one still wants to stay connected “because it’s too painful”.
Earlier in an interview with Variety, when asked if it would be okay for Cattrall to come back for season two, the “Carrie” actress replied, “I don’t think it would be.” Cattrall has said in the past that she never wants to return to the Sex and the City franchise. Problems with her co-stars were said to be the main reason for this. Parker, on the other hand, has denied any suggestion that she and Cattrall were fighting.
