Saturday, August 27 – Top highlights at this year’s Gurtel Nightwalk

On Saturday, the iconic Belt Nightwalk will take place for the 24th time. On stages in a total of 16 locations, national artists from a wide variety of genres will provide musical highlights with free admission. This year the program is once again colorful and exciting.

The Belt Nightwalk has been a cultural institution in the heart of Vienna since 1998. This Saturday, August 27th, six open-air stages will be set up, which will be used from 6.30 p.m. In rainy weather, the venue is used. More than 60 acts from all genres and categories pay their respects to the prestigious project and will ensure the usual exuberant party atmosphere. A total of no fewer than 18 locations will take part in the musical evening, from promising newcomers to well-known city highlights, the Nightwalk has everything in the program. A few selected highlights: in the B72, Sakura, who comes from Hong Kong by choice, will be between noisy indie rock and fine acoustic folk make music Before Corona, she shone in the opening act for indie top star Mitski. In cult Chelsea, the Viennese punk mods from Freud will present their famous new album “Talking Phrases” (more about that HERE) and will certainly also be offering hits from the past and one or the other cover version for sale. Things get more electronic in the loft when Austrian Apparel let the turntables glow. The exciting Yokohomo will play music in front of the Gurtelbräu, while the well-known Viennese rapper Kid Pex will create a good atmosphere at Café Carina. The best thing about it: all concerts are free! The Belt Nightwalk was created in 1998 to strengthen the local scene that was establishing itself in the Stadtbahn arches and to modernize the reputation as a brothel mile. Over the last quarter of a century, the three locations that started out have turned into 18 event locations that always present themselves and their assets in the best light at the end of summer. Among others, local greats such as 3 Feet Smaller, Joyce Muniz or the Elefant Commando have played as part of the Belt Nightwalk.
