Do you want to (re)play a game? That’s good, the horror saga Saw is about to make its big comeback on cinema screens for a tenth opus. Its trailer, which has just been unveiled, is logically bloody at will.
The Return of Jigsaw
We had abandoned the gore saga in 2021 with the shameful spin-off Spiral: Saw’s Legacy, which seemed to have sent the franchise to the dumpster for good. But the Lionsgate studio has every intention of resurrecting their golden goose with Saw 10 (Saw X in OV).

You will have understood it with the return of Tobin Bell in the main role: this next opus is a prequel, being located between the events of the first Saw And Saw 2. As a reminder, the character was dead at the end of Saw 3and had only appeared in subsequent episodes through flashbacks and other recordings.

In this tenth film, we find a sick John Kramer, who travels to Mexico for an experimental medical procedure in the hope of a miracle cure for his cancer. But he discovers that the operation is a scam, and will take revenge on the crooks in his own way, via ingenious, devious and deadly traps.
Regulars are at the helm of this tenth installment: the film is written by Pete Goldfinger and Jish Stolberg (Jigsaw) and directed by Kevin Greutert (Saw 6, Saw 3D). Besides Tobin Bell, fans of the horror franchise will also have noted Shawnee Smith’s return as Amanda, a role she hasn’t had since. Saw 6 in 2009. A real family reunion.
Directed by James Wan (Insidious, Conjuring), the very first film Saw was a small phenomenon when it was released in 2004, grossing 103 million worldwide, for a micro-budget of $1 million. The saga then built its popularity on its gore sequences, and increasingly unhealthy games…
A catchy tone that has proven to be profitable: in nine films, the franchise has garnered more than a billion dollars in revenue worldwide, for budgets that are still relatively modest. She is one of the flagships of the Lionsgate Films studio, alongside John Wick And The Hunger Games.
