Due to an acute disruption, SBB rail traffic is suspended between Zurich Hardbrücke and Zurich Oerlikon restricted for a good 2 hours.
The SBB cites a contact line fault as the reason.
Passengers on two trains were blocked for two hours.
For reasons that are still unclear, a contact line defect occurred between Zurich-Hardbrücke and Zurich-Oerlikon at around 7:40 a.m. As a result, the power went out in one section and six trains were no longer able to continue.
In the meantime, three trains were able to continue running and passengers were able to get off one train. Two trains were blocked for a long time. They are currently being towed by SBB fire and rescue trains to Zurich-Oerlikon and Zurich-Altstetten. The specialist services are on duty to repair the defective contact line. The disruption lasts until at least 11 a.m.
