Scam: watch out for this SMS from the CPAM which promises 642 euros

A new scam has been raging for a few weeks. Like many before it, it is also by SMS that it is possible to receive it, and this one offers a reimbursement of the CPAM.

“After the last calculations for the exercise of your activity, we inform you that you have a reimbursement of 642 euros”, promises the SMS which was sent to many people. Spotted by Paris Normandie, this message which is signed by the CPAM (Caisse Primaire d’Assurance Maladie) is in fact fraudulent.

This SMS, which is like most accompanied by a link with the name CPAM and invites you to click on it, refers to a page that asks to enter your personal and bank details.

Never provide personal contact details

Of course, you should never provide your data, like that of your credit card, whether through a fake site or even to a person who contacts directly by phone call. You are strongly advised to delete this type of SMS or similar message.

For its part, Ameli.fr, had “warned its social security” since September 21. The online Health Insurance site warned “fraudulent canvassing by telephone who usurp their name”, and called for vigilance.

In addition, it also recalls the telephone numbers to reach them, but also those used by their services when they call their insured.

And finally she insists on the fact that: “your contact with the Health Insurance will never ask you for your bank details, or any password, even temporary”. In case of doubt, it is therefore advisable to call the CPAM on 3646.
