Berlin, Copenhagen, London: We all have a city where we simply feel at home in terms of fashion. For intern Anna it is definitely Stockholm. What excites you about the style of the Swedes…

Stockholm immediately cast a spell over me. In addition to the delicious cinnamon rolls, the beautiful old town and the royal flair, I am particularly enthusiastic about the fashion of the locals. The chic but functional style of the Swedes shows the whole fashion world how casual fashion can be.

The style motto in Stockholm: casual

The Swedish look is one thing above all: casual. You hardly ever see skinny jeans on the streets of Stockholm anymore. Instead, the oversized look is hip. The Swedish influencer and fashion icon of Gen-Z Matilda Djerf shows how it’s done. Along with a large cardigan, she styles dad jeans and slippers. Instead of a lazy Sunday look, she delivers a cool mix of casual and chic. In combination with glittering hoop earrings and a Dior saddle bag, it gives your outfit an elegant character.

High-quality basics instead of fast fashion

Swedes attach great importance to the quality of their clothes. There is a lot of shopping, especially regionally. Because Scandinavia itself has a lot to offer in terms of fashion labels. Matilda Djerf has also set up her own label: Djerv Avenue. The shop has made it its goal to bring timeless products from sustainable production onto the market.

Therefore, simple basics such as shirts and jeans are primarily sold. The parts should be able to be combined stylishly for many years to come. Instead of clothes that are only fashionable for one season, everlasting pieces are produced. For me, this is not only sustainable, but also easy. After all, basics that can be worn with everything quickly answer the question of what to wear in the morning.

Stripes, stripes and more stripes

Stripes no longer just belong in every Scandinavian wardrobe. They can be used in a variety of ways and can be ideally combined with minimalist clothes to create an exciting look. Best of all, the stripes not only look great on blouses, they also add a Swedish touch to trousers, jumpers and jackets. Caroline Blomst, a stylist and fashion influencer from Stockholm, also loves the striped look. In combination with oversized suit trousers and a simple black t-shirt, she shows what stripes can do. A simple look becomes a casual Scandi style.
