Scarlet and Violet: Top 5 Best New 9G Pokémon

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are the two new versions of the license released on November 18, 2022. If the graphics and technique have struggled to convince players, the two opuses are today the games that have achieved a monstrous record on Nintendo Switch : more than 10 million sales in just 3 days. And who says new generation says a hundred new pocket monsters to delight young and old. A week after its release, it’s time for us to reveal our Top 5 of the best Pokémon of 9G.

If you have not yet advanced enough in the game to complete your Pokédex, we advise you to avoid this article which could spoiler about 9G creatures you haven’t encountered.

Iron Mite

Exclusive to Pokémon Purple, Ironmite is a kind of Future Pyrax with wings and a metallic body. In addition to being absolutely magnificent, the Pokémon Paradox offers a friendly double-type Fire/Poison. On the other hand, we will come back to his name (which is however no worse than Hurle-Queue).

Are you looking to complete your 9G Pokédex with the famous Paradox Pokémon of the future? Here’s where to find Ironmite, the infamous special Pyrax from Pokémon Purple and Scarlet.

Malvalame

Another exclusivity of the Violet version which puts a slap (in our opinion) on its Scarlet variant, Carmadura. With its two blades as an arm, the evolution of little Charbambin (Jean-Charles for those close to him) is impressive.

Famignol

If Pohm is the ninth generation Pikachu, no doubt the little Compagnol has stolen the hearts of many trainers in Paldea. Always in pairs they go, the Compagnol evolve into Famignol, welcoming a baby mouse. The particularity of this evolution is that the Famignol can then have a Family of Three or Family of Four Form!

Forgelina

If Palm-of-Iron or Tomberro are formidable Pokémon of 9G, far too powerful in competitive or Raid, there is one that should roll on the adventure from the beginning to the League: Forgelina. His dual-type allows him to have only two weaknesses: Fire and Ground! She is immune to Poison and Dragon and she even has Rock-type attacks.

Roar-Moon and Ironguard

This time, whether it’s the Scarlet or Violet version, the two exclusives that can be found in the secret cave of Paldea Crater, are absolutely awe-inspiring. On one side is a flashy pink metallic Gardevoir, on the other a feathered Drattak from the past.

Honorable mentions

Impossible not to talk about Tauros of Paldea all black which, although its presence was logical in this region inspired by Spain and Portugal, surprised us with its two variants. Special mention also to Scovillain which is the very first Pokémon in the world to possess the double-type Fire/Plant.

On the side of the Scourge Legendaries, our favorite is Yuyu, the small Asian fish that seems to have Yin and Yang in its eyes. And, finally, thunderous applause for Deusolourdo, the tasteless evolution of Insolourdo, a Pokémon that fans of the license have always considered perfect, to the point that it did not require an evolution. This is probably why the team of designers preferred to offer it an evolution that changes its basic shape little. By the way, did you know that it was possible to obtain a “triple” form of Deusolourdo?
