Announced last June as part of E3 and Summer Game Fest, Scars Above resurfaced during Opening Night Live, the Gamescom opening conference broadcast last night. In addition to sharing a first short enigmatic trailer mixing cinematics and gameplay phasesthe science fiction TPS developed by Mad Head Games has provided some information on its scenario and its universe.
Released on PC and consoles in early 2023
According to the press release provided by Prime Matter, the title will place us in the shoes of Doctor Kate Ward, an astronaut and scientist on the SCAR (Sentient Contact Assessment and Response) team. Responsible for unraveling the secrets surrounding the Metahedron, a gigantic alien structure that appeared in orbit around the Earth, she will unfortunately find herself trapped on a strange extrasolar planet located at the other end of space.
We will therefore have to help him survive in this new environment populated by hostile creatures by using the weapons, devices and consumables that we will find during our journey. In addition to the fights, the game will invite us to explore different biomes in order to lift the veil on the mysteries surrounding the exoplanet and, who knows, maybe find a way to return home.
Initially aiming for a release this year, Scars Above should finally happen early 2023 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Note that, still according to the Prime Matter press release and even if it is not indicated in the video, the title also seems planned on Xbox One.
