This Monday, January 23, 2023 on M6, Scènes de Ménages invites its fans to discover its new duo from 8:30 p.m. Fanny Cottençon and Didier Bénureau thus join the cast of the channel’s comic fiction in the roles of Christine and Gilbert to form “a young-old couple“, in the middle of Emma and Fabien, Huguette and Raymond… and the others.

During a press conference organized a few weeks ago in Paris, this tandem of shocking protagonists was therefore presented to journalists by one of the producers in these terms: “They are ‘boomers’ who were rather lucky to find themselves and who try not to be too out of step with the society around them… But they will still be a little bit out of step!” An entire program !
Fanny Cottençon adds when describing her character: “She is a girl who has lived well. She had three husbands and divorced her because she was bored! He’s not a victim. She has a daughter with whom it’s not easy… Christine is also a bit selfish and hypochondriac.“
“She found this man, Gilbert, who is nice, funny and very loving. It changes her from what she knew before. She comes from the bourgeoisie and is working today for the first time in her life. She wants to stop pretending. She wants to let go!“
For his part, Didier Bénureau also talks to us about his role: “Gilbert is simple and raw. He has redneck tastes, he’s heavy… But he’s very sentimental and sensitive. He tries to play macho but he’s not and that makes him likeable. He knows he doesn’t know much about life, but he has common sense.“
An explosive and endearing couple
Before forming this new couple in Scènes de Ménages, the actors did not know each other at all. However, they claim, their complicity was born instantly: “We met at the casting. The comedy worked immediately between us!“
Fanny Cottençon and Didier Bénureau, however, take their first steps here in recurring roles and they recognize, despite their extensive professional experience, the difficulty of playing in this type of program: “I had done a bonus of Scènes de Ménages with Thierry Lhermitte as a guest. I had found it very difficult and demanding but very fun to do (…), remembers the interpreter of Christine. If there is a micro second where we are not present, it does not work on the screen.
To reassure herself, the latter also reveals to have made contact with Amélie Etasse: “We know each other. She told me about her work here and I could see that I was not out of step with what she experienced when she arrived in Scènes de Ménages.“
