A Blick reader reporter reported on Monday morning about a serious accident in Schafisheim AG. “I was woken up with a loud bang and a little tremor,” he says. Pictures from the scene of the accident show a large contingent of police, fire brigade and paramedics.
The accident happened around 8.30 a.m., as confirmed by the Aargau Blick cantonal police. A truck went off the road and crashed into an extension of a house. The dump truck was traveling in the direction of Seon AG. The vehicle became wedged in the building during the accident.
The driver was trapped in the vehicle. He had to be rescued from the driver’s cabin and flown to the hospital by helicopter. Due to the circumstances on site and the uncertain statics of the house, the salvage was only possible after around two hours, the canton police announced in the afternoon.
It is not yet clear why the accident happened. The public prosecutor’s office has opened a criminal investigation. (bra/noo)
