Schwarzach and Tamsweg – bureaucracy makes it difficult to find gynecologists

The approval of the Tamsweg gynecology primary is dragging on – he has not yet submitted all the documents. In Schwarzach, a long selection procedure lengthens the application process – especially for primary school.

The gynecology department in the Tamsweg hospital has to continue without a new primary. The doctor is still waiting for his entry in the Austrian list of doctors. The reason for this should not be the medical association, but the future primary itself. According to the medical association, he has not yet submitted all the necessary documents. The procedure for his work permit has been going on for three months. There is also a great shortage of staff in the Schwarzach hospital, and the search for doctors for gynecology is ongoing. A “long story” The processes in the background are likely to run quite slowly. “In April, we sent 22 profiles of gynecologists to the Cardinal Schwarzenberg Clinic, as well as the profiles of a senior and a primary. Doctors who could be available relatively quickly,” says an employee of a personnel office that specializes in the placement of medical staff. “The procedure is lengthy and not very up-to-date,” says the personnel office. “It’s actually a lengthy story,” admits State Councilor Christian Stöckl (ÖVP) with regard to filling the primary positions. An application has to overcome many hurdles. Potential candidates for the primary position must be approved and ranked by the state medical directorate and external experts . The crucial meetings of the body are only at certain times. “I am in agreement with the state medical council so that we can shorten the intervals between the meetings or hold special meetings,” says Stöckl.
