Although it had a difficult release, Sea of Thieves has since improved a lot, with a plethora of additions in recent years, allowing it to offer its community a complete experience, which is still evolving today. But that doesn’t seem to be to everyone’s taste, since nearly one in three pirates has never sailed on Sea of Thieves.
This stat was noticed by a Reddit user, who found that only 67.43% of players had completed the “Heading to the Horizon” achievement, which simply requires navigation. Thus, this means that one out of three players stopped at the end of the tutorial, without going any further. This stat comes from the Microsoft/Xbox version of Sea of Thieves, and knowing that the title is playable in the Xbox Game Pass, it probably means that many players taking advantage of the offer have not been seduced.
A guess that makes sense when we compare these numbers to those on Steam, where Sea of Thieves can only be obtained by paying, given that 91% of players validated this achievement.
Be that as it may, even if some people quickly drop the Sea of Thieves adventure, the community remains very important and involved, in particular thanks to the work of Rare. Moreover, the next season will arrive with a little delay, as the studio explained, to have time to perfect the experience. Remember that many expected features will make their arrival.
