season 2 already teased and it promises to be crazy!

One Piece is a hit on Netflix and may well have the right to a season 2. We have some clues under our noses, since it has already been teased.

The One Piece series is finally available on Netflix, and for some, it’s even already over. Like many series at the moment, One Piece has its plots held over 8 episodes of about an hour. Despite everything, the show manages to fit no less than a hundred chapters of the manga in its first season. It’s not nothing, and it goes by very quickly. From now on, fans and the curious who have given in to the songs of the sirens will not wonder if there will be a season 2 and if so, what to expect? On a few answers.

A season 2 for the series One Piece from Netflix?

One Piece is currently breaking records. We do not yet have an official figure to put under our noses, but the series has quickly found itself at the top of the most watched novelties around the globe. It will surprise absolutely no one that said, it was almost a foregone conclusion as the hype was absolutely huge. A season 2 should therefore naturally see the light of day. But for the time being, Netflix has not ordered any. At least not at the time of this writing. However, the door is open if we are to believe the showrunner of the series Steven Maeda.

The plots are already done. Anyone who has read the manga or seen the anime knows this. One Piece is absolutely titanic. It is full of colorful characters, intrigues, memorable fights and landscapes of all kinds. The manga is over 1090 chapters, the anime over 1070 episodes at the moment… as much to tell you that we have time to see what is coming. As long as viewers are present, the Netflix series could therefore have a very bright future. And the showrunner and his teams have already teased what could happen soon in their series.

Although it is a faithful adaptation, validated by Eiichiro Oda himself, the One Piece series from Netflix still takes a few liberties here and there. We are therefore entitled to expect surprises for the next seasons, if there are any. Asked about the subject in the columns of Collider, Steven Maeda affirms that “many easter eggs have been placed here and there”, and some may well give some clues as to what will happen next. He states that “each easter egg has been carefully placed to serve as a reference for future seasons”, but not only. The showrunner still claims that “some are there just because they are cool”. But again, it’s validated by Oda. Everything is validated by Oda.

What to expect in Season 2? (Spoiler alert)

Easter eggs, absolutely everywhere. Characters in the background, posters here and there, paintings at Baratie… so many little things that give fans the satisfaction of finding a very faithful series full of winks, but also grain to grind to embark on theories on the sequel. You just have to re-watch the entire series, taking a close look at everything surrounding the heroes on screen. Things are happening in the background and it is here that we will have clues as to what happens next, even if fans of the manga have of course an idea of what is happening.

Moreover, the end of season 1 leaves little room for doubt since the final scene gives us a glimpse of one of the next antagonists of the Straw Hats, Smoker, a powerful enemy well known to fans of the manga and the anime. Which would mean that Luffy and his troupe would have indeed left East Blue to sail to new horizons and the next season could therefore deal with the Alabasta arc.
