Andri Ragettli and Mathilde Gremaud ensure a successful Swiss end to the season in Silvaplana.

Finally the best

The last competition of the season for ski freestylers – the slopestyle on the Corvatsch – had to be canceled due to strong winds. This is how the results from the qualification were evaluated on Friday, which is why Andri Ragettli got his first win of the season at the last opportunity.

Ragettli prevailed ahead of Lukas Müllauer (AUT) and Luca Harrington (NZL) and improved to third place in the discipline World Cup. For Ragettli it was the 12th World Cup victory. The 25-year-old from Flims also celebrated his first World Cup victory 8 years ago in Silvaplana, where the 2025 World Championships will take place in a year.

Only one of his dozen victories came in big air. Ragettli prefers slopestyle. In this division he became world champion in 2021 and third in the World Championships a year ago in Bakuriani.

Historically successful season for Gremaud

When it comes to medals, Mathilde Gremaud from Freiburg is even more successful than the man from Graubünden. The Olympic champion and world champion in slopestyle came second in Silvaplana – the Frenchwoman Tess Ledeux did slightly better on Friday.

Even before the World Cup final it was clear that the Swiss would win 3 crystal balls: the big one for winning the overall World Cup for ski freestylers and the small ones for the discipline victories in big air and slopestyle.
