"Are you a girl and you have no shampoo? No but hello" (probably would panic Nabilla while reading this article). If you run out of shampoo, don't panic! Now is the perfect time to do a sebum cure, in other words : spend 30 days without washing your hair.

Sebum cure: what is it for?

The sebum cure consists of stop soliciting your scalp so that it can self-regulate. As a reminder, sebum is a hydrolipidic film (fat) which protects the skin from drying out. Therefore, our body produces it to protect itself. When it produces too much, our hair becomes greasy. The more we wash them to try to remedy them, the more our scalp will be attacked and the more our body will produce sebum to protect itself. Conclusion: washing your hair excessively is not the solution to end this vicious circle. On the other hand, a sebum cure can be very useful. This cure has the power to naturally regulate this hydrolipidic film: sebum. Within 30 days, you will therefore find much healthier hair.

How to properly carry out your sebum cure?

Now that you understand its usefulness, here are some rules to properly carry out your sebum treatment. As you will understand, the sebum cure consists in no longer shampooing for 30 days (however, you can rinse your hair with water). However, you must to brush hair : “It is important to brush your hair 2 to 3 times a day during a sebum treatment. The point is to spread the sebum all over the hair to hydrate it, from the root to the tip. ” specifies Gianni Coppa. To do this, use boar bristle brushes, which are less aggressive for the scalp.

Who can perform a sebum cure?

A sebum cure has multiple benefits, yes, but not for everybody, specifies Gianni Coppa:"We recommend this type of treatment for women who have natural hair, which has not been chemically treated. A chemically treated hair is a sensitized hair, so it necessarily needs cosmetics."

What results can we expect?

After 30 days without shampooing, you should notice a clear improvement in the texture of your hair: it will only be more voluminous and thicker. Your hair will also gain in shine and softness. They will be easier to style and more pleasant to the touch. "After a sebum cure, the scalp grows much less quickly" adds Gianni Coppa. You will therefore find it easier to space out your shampoos, since your sebum secretion will be (finally) regulated.

What are the right actions to adopt after a sebum cure?

Now is the perfect time to sebum turn to less aggressive products for the scalp. "It's the perfect time to change your hair routine and opt for shampoos and treatments less loaded with silicone and paraben."
