Second division – FAC defeats Rapid, storm turns game at Admira

The FAC beat Rapid II 4:1 at home in the 8th round of the 2nd football league on Friday evening. The Floridsdorfers worked their way up to third place in the table for the time being. Blau Weiß Linz, Sturm Graz II, Dornbirn and the Young Violets also scored full points. The people of Linz defeated Lafnitz 1-0 at home, while the young “Violets” beat Vorwarts Steyr 3-0. Sturm Graz II celebrated a 2-1 victory at Bundesliga relegated Admira, Dornbirn defeated Kapfenberg 2-1.

Vice Miljanovic (11th) and Paolino Bertaccini (20th) put FAC on the road to victory early on, Enes Tepecik scored the goal for the green-whites (45th + 2). An own goal by Nikolas Sattlberger (63′) ensured the preliminary decision in favor of the hosts, Bertaccini put together a brace (84′). The Floridsdorfers increased their points account to 14 points. In Linz, defender Manuel Maranda shot Blau Weiß to victory (72nd) in the fight to catch up with the top of the table. With 13 points, the Upper Austrians are four points behind the top duo Amstetten and Horn in one game. In Maria Enzersdorf, Jakob Tranziska gave Admira a 1-0 lead after a finely executed counterattack (24th). But just before the break, Milan Toth equalized for the guests with his sixth goal of the season (44th). Substitute Christoph Lang finally led the Styrian promoted team to an away win (59th). For Admira it is the second defeat in a row. Ibrahima Drame with a brace (18th, 70th) and Romeo Vucic with a penalty kick (59th) secured the “Veilchen II” three safe points against Steyr in partly pouring rain. It was the first home win this season for the Viennese. In Dornbirn, Cavafe put the hosts in front early (7th), the Kapfenbergers managed to equalize before the break through Mark Grosse (40th). However, to the joy of Vorarlberg, Renan had the last word (90′), so the Styrians keep the red lantern.
