Second division – second division leader Amstetten conceded home bankruptcy

SKU Amstetten lost its home game against SV Lafnitz 1-0 on Friday in the 11th round of the second Bundesliga. The Mostviertel threatens to lose the lead in the table to Horn or Vienna, both of which only play on Sunday. The SKN St. Pölten celebrated a 1-0 win at Vorwarts Steyr. In the basement duel, tail light Kapfenberg suffered a 0:2 defeat against SK Rapid II.

With questionable turf conditions in Amstetten’s Ertl-Glas Stadium, both teams were initially unlucky. A header hit by SKU defender Marco Stark did not count because of offside, in the scene goalkeeper Andreas Zingl and striker Luka Duvnjak injured themselves in a collision with the East Styrians. The game was over for both of them after just twelve minutes. However, the Styrians managed the “lucky punch” shortly before the end through Stefan Sulzer (90th). Lafnitz moved up to third place for the time being, Amstetten is one point ahead of Horn in one game. Din Barlov shot his fourth goal of the season (25th) at St. Pölten to victory. The Lower Austrians are now fourth for the time being. The Young Violets of Wiener Austria and GAK drew 1-1 in the Generali Arena. Austria’s Israel summer transfer Matan Baltaxa made his debut for the favorites after a protracted ankle injury and played for a half. Kapfenberg, meanwhile, remains without a win this season. The Upper Styrians were at a disadvantage at home against Rapid’s second team. Guest keeper Laurenz Orgler initially kept the Green-Whites in the game by parrying a poorly shot penalty by Matthias Puschl. Nicolas Bajlicz (45th) and Almir Oda (89th) then secured the second win of the season for the Viennese.
