Second game in Frankfurt
NFL hype culminates in the race for Germany tickets

The fascination of football is increasingly breaking the boundaries in Germany. The market is attractive for the NFL, and there are even games now. But being there live is not exactly easy. If you’re not lucky, you can follow the games on RTL.

The football stars from the NFL also inspire the masses in Germany. Getting tickets for the November 5 encounter between the Miami Dolphins and champions Kansas City Chiefs in Frankfurt was almost impossible in June. “All tickets in general ticket sales are now sold out,” the organizer said just a few minutes after sales started.

The number of interested parties was gigantic and exceeded the million mark. Most went away empty-handed, as only 48,000 fans can watch the game live in Frankfurt’s Deutsche Bank Park. But ticket sales for the second NFL game in Frankfurt on November 12 between the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots will start on Tuesday. The answers to the most important questions:

How to buy tickets for the second NFL game?

Tickets go on sale Tuesday at 12 p.m. However, only fans who have previously registered can buy a ticket – and that was only possible until June 16th. The tickets are sold online via Ticketmaster. The NFL advises creating an account with the platform before the sale and being logged in when the tickets appear there.

How is the sale going?

As soon as the tickets go online, they can also be bought. This is causing digital queues to form, with some fans reporting on social media that they had over a million seats in line ahead of you. All registered fans will receive a personalized code via email from the NFL, which must be entered when booking. Tips are circulating online to copy this code to the clipboard before activating the tickets so that you can paste it in quickly. According to the NFL, you will then receive the tickets no later than seven days before the day of the game.

Why are the tickets so popular?

The German premiere of the NFL in Munich last year was a huge success. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers met the Seattle Seahawks – and caused a lot of excitement among the fans. Now the winner of the Super Bowl is even coming to Kansas City. Interest in the best football league in the world is increasing in Germany, and the rare opportunity to see the stars live is also responsible for the enormous demand for tickets.

I didn’t get a ticket – what can I do?

According to the NFL, those who went empty-handed could still find what they are looking for in Ticketmaster Resale. However, tickets are rarely available there and they sell out quickly. This is specifically the only platform the NFL recommends for second-hand tickets. On other platforms, the tickets for the first game are already being offered at horrendous prices, sometimes over 1,500 euros are required there. The original prices were significantly lower, between 75 and 225 euros per ticket. The NFL plans to limit the excessive resale of tickets by limiting to four tickets per buyer.

What should I consider with second sellers?

In principle, the European Consumer Center (EVZ) only recommends buying from first-party suppliers. “The more intermediate stations there are between you and the event, the more difficult it will be for you if there are problems,” said the consumer advocates. If you still plan to take the risk and possibly pay a bit more for a ticket, you can browse rating portals before buying and see if there are reviews of the second sellers there. The EVZ warns against dubious sellers on secondary platforms.

Can I follow the spectacle on TV?

Yes! The games will be broadcast on German free TV. On November 5th and 12th, RTL will show the NFL matches from 2 p.m., kickoff is at 3:30 p.m.
