Secret cutlery codes in the restaurant: How to show that it didn’t taste good


To verbalise and explain the cutlery arrangement, the plate is often thought of as the clock and the cutlery as the clock hand.

If you want to take a break from eating, position the handles of your knife and fork at around 8 o’clock and 4 o’clock in the shape of a triangle, as far as possible despite the food on the plate. The entire “clock” shows about 8:20 a.m.
