“Secret Invasion” aims to shock audiences with a twist in every episode. This also works in episode 3, but the death of SPOILER could be a trick.
- “Secret Invasion” doesn’t shy away from killing well-known characters or revealing them to be Skrulls.
- Episode 3 of the Marvel series on Disney+ also had a shocking ending.
- But again one should ask the question: are we allowed to believe everything we see?
As a thriller series, “Secret Invasion” on Disney+ is all about paranoia. Who can you trust and are you ever really sure? The three episodes of the Marvel production released so far revealed well-known characters as Skrulls, killed main characters and revealed more about Nick Fury’s private life.
In episode 3 we had to say goodbye again to a person we actually just met. Or is the audience just being deceived again?
G’iah returns!
At first glance, the case seems clear: G’iah is dead! Shot by Gavik, just like he killed Maria Hill in Episode 1. While we don’t see G’iah’s corpse, we do hear her transforming from her human form back into a Skrull – a clear indication of her actual death?
While G’iah’s death would come as a surprise and a devastating blow to her father, Talos, there is one clear argument that G’iah survived: the Secret Invasion trailer! There are several scenes with G’iah that have not been seen in the series before.
So it’s conceivable that the shot didn’t kill G’iah at all, but still turned her back into a Skrull to fool Gavik. It’s also possible that it wasn’t the real G’iah that was shot by Gavik, but another Skrull. However, G’iah does not seem to have any Skrull allies who would die for her.
However “Secret invasion” ultimately explains G’iah’s survival, what matters is that we don’t have to say a permanent goodbye to Emilia Clarke in her new Marvel role.
