Semi-final game seven – Salzburg moved into the final after a thriller

A sold-out Volksgarten with a mega atmosphere was the venue for the seventh and decisive semi-final game between Salzburg and Bozen on Tuesday evening. In an open game, the Bulls had the better end, winning 3-2 after extra time. The final series against KAC begins for them on Friday.

The Eisbullen got off to a good start in the first third and found their first chances early on. But it took a while before the sold-out Tollhaus Volksgarten was able to cheer for the first time. Only a few seconds before the first break, Thaler scored after preparatory work from Baltram and Bourke to make it 1-0. In the middle section the game became more heated and Bozen’s Halmo caused a negative highlight when he checked Salzburg’s Genoway from behind. The culprit had to end the game early, and Genoway returned after a short investigation. The home team couldn’t take advantage of the five-minute advantage, which gave the Italians strength – so Digiacinto equalized shortly afterwards. With the score at 1:1 we went into the dressing rooms for the second time. No winner in regular time. In the third third it was the South Tyroleans who wrote again. After Wukovits made a mistake in the build-up, Frigo made it 2-1. But the answer came straight away – Bourke scored to make it 2-2. The game developed more and more into a crime thriller. And should no longer find a winner in regular time. An extension was needed! But it didn’t last long before Meyer shot the Bulls into the final. This starts on Friday in Klagenfurt.
