A dramatic execution, Princess Diana and the egg-eating baby Yoda caused quite a stir in the 2020 series.

Despite the corona pandemic, the supply of series has not been demolished in 2020. A tearful farewell, drama in a galaxy far, far away as well as at the British royal court and a race against time made for unforgettable moments.

Attention, the following passages contain massive standard spoilers!

"Babylon Berlin"

The third season of the German hit series "Babylon Berlin" was finally broadcast in 2020. The focus was on a criminal case on a film set. And Charlotte (Liv Lisa Fries, 30) and Gereon (Volker Bruch, 40) got closer – there was even a passionate kiss. But the greatest drama was caused by Charlotte's fight for the life of her friend Greta Overbeck (Leonie Benesch, 29), who, as is well known, was in jail for the assassination attempt on Government Councilor August Benda (Matthias Brandt, 59). Greta initially refused any support.

When a lawyer finally took her case and she finally agreed, a dramatic race against time began. But to no avail, because Gottfried Wendt (Benno Fürmann, 48) made sure that the judgment was carried out. Despite a court order, her death could not be prevented. Wendt's plan thus worked: Greta lost her life as the sole culprit for the bomb attack and the real masterminds behind it were not revealed. Particularly tragic: Charlotte had to watch as her friend was executed.

The episodes are still available in the ARD media library until January 22, 2021.

"Modern Family"

After eleven seasons, a very special family said goodbye in 2020. The last episode of the award-winning sitcom "Modern Family" was broadcast in the US in April. In this country, Sky had shown the final season in autumn. Handkerchiefs were appropriate, because the Pritchett-Tucker-Delgado clan relied on humor and lots of emotion. For example, Cam (Eric Stonestreet, 49) and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson, 45) moved their children to Missouri because Cam will coach a college football team there.

At the end of the finale, the voiceover of family head Jay (Ed O'Neill, 74) could be heard, while all family members could be seen once again: "Life is full of changes – some big, some small. I learned a long time ago that you can either fight it or try to make the best of it. And it's all a lot easier when you have people who love you and help you face what life is facing. At least it helps me that of sleeping at night. "

"The Crown"

The fourth season of the hit series "The Crown" provided plenty of talking points. Because for the first time Princess Diana (1961-1997) appeared. She was played by British actress Emma Corrin (24, "The Misses – The Beginning of a Revolution"). The love triangle between Prince Charles (Josh O'Connor, 30), Camilla (Emerald Fennell, 35) and Diana was the focus of the season. Diana's eating disorder was also addressed particularly urgently.

Princess Diana confirmed that she suffered from bulimia in her famous BBC interview in 1995. She called the eating disorder her "secret illness" with which she had to deal for years. "It was a symptom of what was going on in my marriage. I yelled for help, but gave the wrong signals (…)." The cause was the situation, Charles and she had to hold everything together, "because we didn't want to disappoint the public, and yet there was obviously a lot of fear in our four walls".

"The Mandalorian"

Baby Yoda aka "the child" caused a shit storm in the "Star Wars" series "The Mandalorian". In the second episode of the second season, the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal, 45) takes an unknown person on board his ship with the "Frog Lady". He should take her and her precious container with eggs to another planet to her husband – so that the eggs are fertilized and their line is saved from extinction. Baby Yoda secretly claws eggs during the trip together to eat them with relish …

There were a number of negative comments on the Internet. A creative art manager at Lucasfilm, Phil Szostak, then stated on Twitter: "Chapter 10 of #TheMandalorian makes it clear that the Frog Lady's eggs are unfertilized, like the hen's eggs that many of us enjoy. But obviously chickens are not living beings, and the kid who eats the eggs is purposely disturbing, for comedic purposes. "
