Seriously injured – motorcycle driver (60) fell 200 meters into the forest

Mountain rescue had to be called out to a serious traffic accident in the Tyrolean lowlands late on Friday afternoon. A motorcycle driver (60) got off a gravel road and fell 200 meters into a forest. An acquaintance of the man raised the alarm.

At around 4 p.m., the 60-year-old was riding his motorcycle on the public gravel road called “Gang” in Brandenberg/Aschau. He ended up going too far to the edge of the road in a slight left-hand bend. The gravel broke away and the biker fell into a steep forest. Luckily, the accident was noticed quickly. The handlebar was thrown from the motorcycle and ended up seriously injured 200 meters below the path. An acquaintance of the victim was also riding his motorcycle on the gravel road at the same time. He noticed the accident and raised the alarm. The Kramsach mountain rescue service had to move out to rescue the seriously injured man from the impassable terrain. The fire department was also on duty. The 60-year-old was flown to the Innsbruck clinic after initial treatment.
