Liverpool are struggling at the top of the table

Liverpool FC and Manchester City have been in a breathtaking Premier League title race for months. Shortly before the end of the season, Liverpool may now be missing crucial points. The Reds are superior against Tottenham, but it’s only enough for a draw.
Champions League finalists Liverpool FC may have made a decisive mistake in the Premier League title race. The team of the German team manager Jürgen Klopp did not get over a 1-1 (0-0) against Tottenham Hotspur – Manchester City can pull three games before the end of the season to a three-point lead.
Spurs striker Heung-Min Son (59th) tore Reds fans out of their Champions League dreams four days after reaching the final. Luis Diaz (74th) still managed to equalize, for the time being Liverpool are the leaders with the same number of points because of the better goal difference. Man City, who failed spectacularly to Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the premier class, welcome Newcastle United on Sunday.
Klopp commented calmly on the setback in the exciting title race of the two top clubs. “Obviously there’s no high spirits in the dressing room, come on, but there are other games. We just have to keep going.” Liverpool delivered an intense game to the Spurs around their coach Antonio Conte just four days after the complicated 3: 2 in Villarreal, which Klopp liked, despite the final score.
“I’m really happy with the performance and proud of the mentality of the team, which they showed against an incredibly good opponent with a good plan,” Klopp didn’t want to let a bad mood arise. “It’s incredibly difficult to play against an opponent with world-class players and a world-class manager when they’ve had a week to prepare and we’re playing every three days.”
Next sensational season without a championship title?

It would bring back memories of the 2018/19 season: Manchester City won the championship with 98 points – ahead of Liverpool, who won 30 games with just one defeat in 38 games and didn’t win the title. At that time, 97 points were one too few. The BBC recalled that record champions Manchester United had only won one of their 13 Premier League titles with more than 90 points.
