On Netflix, no series or show is eternal, and every year, the streaming platform ends, often abruptly and sometimes even without saying anything, certain shows that are dear to our hearts.
If we have known since the beginning of 2023 that neither the very popular 1899 nor the animated series Inside Job and Dead End: Paranormal Park will have a season 2, other very popular shows will reveal their final season.
Lockwood & Co. lasts one season and then leaves
Netflix is ending production of Lockwood & Co., a critically acclaimed British fantasy series whose three protagonists are teenage ghost hunters who investigate paranormal affairs in an ectoplasm-infested London. Netflix unfortunately ended it without any further explanation in January 2023, after just one season. The writers were apparently taken by surprise, since season 1 does not end the series.
Disenchanted comes to an end after five seasons
Gone are the incredible and satirical adventures of Bean, the princess responsible for saving her father’s kingdom with the help of her two sidekicks, Luci the demon and the elf Elmo. Disenchanted, created by Matt Groening (Futurama, The Simpsons), will end at the end of the fifth season, which has 10 episodes.
Sex Education
End clap also for Otis Milburn and Moordale High School students. The fourth season of Sex Education sees them change schools and broaden their horizons. Otis and Maeve try as best they can to make their long-distance relationship work, while Jean (Gillian Anderson) rediscovers the joys of motherhood. The end of this original series not to be missed under any circumstances having been planned and announced, the writers have prepared a satisfying conclusion to the story of the apprentice sexologist at the end of the eighth and final episode.
Netflix ends 9 series in 2023
In the register of comedies which relate the passage to adulthood, we will also note the end of “My first times”also after 4 seasons.
