Nicola Coughlan was naked even without a camera
The third season of “Bridgerton” is rising Nicola Coughlan as the leading actress – including filming sex scenes.

“Bridgerton” lead actress Nicola Coughlan felt so comfortable filming the sex scenes that she didn’t get dressed without the camera.
The romantic Netflix series “Bridgerton” is known for sex and love scenes that spark enthusiasm among viewers. In season three of the historical series, which starts on May 16th on the streaming service, things will get down to business again – between the new main characters Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton, 31) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan, 37). Penelope actress Coughlan revealed now opposite “Teen Vogue”that she felt so comfortable with her acting partner Luke Newton during filming that the two actors also lay naked together between the sex scenes for “Bridgerton”.

“It’s a testament to the fact that we had just gotten to a point where we were so comfortable with each other. We had just finished the big sex scene, the most intense and elaborate one… and we just felt relieved,” describes Coughlan filming the Netflix show. Logistical considerations also played a role in lazing around naked with her co-star. Because the actors were wearing a tiny amount of “not even real clothing” at that point. If they had stood up instead of lying naked next to each other under a blanket, they would have had to expose themselves to the crew, says Coughlan.
Actor Luke Newton, with whom Coughlan felt so comfortable during filming, also comments in “Teen Vogue” about filming the love scenes for the new “Bridgerton” season. He says it helped him to be good friends with Coughlan before filming began. “I think it’s a lot easier when you have a really solid friendship with someone and trust someone. We were able to support each other on set when we needed to and also just laugh about it. I’m really glad we did that “It was like having a really close friend while you’re going through something that might be quite daunting,” he said.
The first half of the third season of “Bridgerton” will be released on Netflix on May 16th and consists of four episodes. The remaining four episodes will appear on June 13th and conclude the new season.
