Sexiest Man Alive – GALA shows the hottest men

Thanks to “People” magazine, we have been able to look forward to the “Sexist Man Alive” every year since 1985 and eagerly await which of Hollywood’s top men can take home the coveted title.

Hollywood’s beautiful men in the 80s and 90s

The first “Sexiest Man Alive” was Australian Mel Gibson in 1985. From today’s perspective that sounds strange, but it was the 80s. However, things didn’t get much better in the 90s: in 1992, of all people, Nick Nolte won the coveted title. If you don’t remember, he still made good films back then. Maybe it was due to protests at the previous year’s election, but in any case, “People” magazine suspended the “Sexiest Man Alive” election for the time being and instead named Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere the “Sexiest Couple Alive”

Award-winning men

So far there are only three male stars who have received the honor of being named “Sexiest Man Alive” twice:

The most sought-after male stars these days

Enough digging into the past! David Beckham became “Sexiest Man Alive” in 2015 and is therefore one of the few non-actors (along with John F. Kennedy Jr. and Adam Levine) who were happy about the title. In 2014 it was “Thor” actor Chris Hemsworth. And in 2016, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, an action movie star with heart, came out on top. We thank People magazine for each of these end-of-year treats.
