SFV: Street Fighter 6 baby! and an anthology

Tonight was the final event of the Capcom Pro Tour 2021, with exhibition matches to highlight the players who have distinguished themselves over the past year. On the side of France, Mister Crimson reminded his challenger Killzyou that he is still the boss in the land of Enlightenment, with a 5-0 sec. The matches then followed one another, until the time of the announcements. The latter were a little desired because Daigo firmly refused to lose against Kawano at the end of the event, extending the latter for a few breathless matches. Then the long-awaited moment finally arrived…

Capcom Fighting Collection

The first announcement had a bit of a cold shower effect with an anthology of certain Capcom fighting games, ported to modern consoles and computers. Fans will be able to find all the Darkstalkers opuses there, a very popular license but which has never had the right to a new title since the end of the 90s with Darkstalkers 3 released in 1998. The 5 versions of the game will be integrated into this new game (There was no update in the 90s, since the consoles were not connected to the Internet. If a game needed to be rebalanced, a new version had to physical), allowing those who wish to (re)discover this license. The principle of this license is to fight monsters from different folklores, with a combat system relatively close to that of Street Fighter.

Morrigan (central character of Darkstalkers) will resume service

Besides the return of Darkstalkers, Street Fighter II will be included in this anthology. This will be the anniversary edition, which included all the different versions of the game. Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, and Gems Fighter will also be included. This anthology will also be an opportunity to discover some unknown titles in the West: Cyberbots and Red Earth.

An online mode will be available for all titles, in order to be able to compete against players from all over the world. The netcode has unfortunately not been announced, so fans are beginning to pray that Capcom does well on the rollback (Street Fighter V players will surely have some comments to make about the made in Capcom rollback, which is far from the best in the world). The anthology will be released on June 24, 2022, on PS4, XBox One, Switch and Steam.

Of course at that time, the fans were flabbergasted. Why prepare an announcement with great fanfare just for remakes, of excellent games of course, but released more than 20 years ago. However, the light does not return, and a silhouette appears in the shadows.

After a few zooms on Ryu’s muscles, we see Luke the last character of SFV standing in front of him, to challenge him. And the video ends there, promising more information this summer. Street Fighter 6 is on the way, but fans won’t know more at this time. In the wake of the Capcom Pro Tour 2022 is confirmed. Street Fighter V therefore seems to have at least one more competitive year ahead of it, given that it seems impossible even in the unlikely event that Street 6 is released this summer, that a competitive year could take place on a barely released game, without letting time for players to master the new opus. Street 6 therefore, but not immediately. See you this summer, and in the meantime don’t hesitate to prick a dragon on the spot.

Capcom recently unveiled its results for the year 2021 and this mythical game has been selling like hotcakes for 5 years now. Who can stop him?

As the 2021 season finale event approaches, Capcom has announced two new partnerships. The first is a fast food chain and the second concerns the most popular TCG: Magic.
