Shane Warne, Australian cricketer and ex-fiancé of Liz Hurley, is dead. He died aged 52.

Cricket legend Shane Warne (1969-2022) is dead. The athlete and former fiancé of British actress Liz Hurley (56) died on March 4 on the Thai island of Koh Samui, Warne’s management confirmed in a statement, which, among other things, “CNN” is available.

The cricket player was found lifeless in his villa and, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, could not be revived. It is currently suspected that Warne died as a result of a heart attack. The family of the deceased will provide further details in due course.

Warne leaves behind three children: son Jackson and daughters Brooke and Summer. They are from Warne’s divorced marriage to Simone Callahan. The athlete was also with Hurley for several years. The two confirmed their engagement in 2011 but split in 2013.

Ed Sheeran is ‘completely shocked’

After the death became known, British singer Ed Sheeran (31), who was a friend of Warne, spoke up. The athlete had the “loveliest heart” and always tried to make other people feel welcome and special, writes the singer on Instagram. Warne was a real gentleman. He “gave so many hours and years of his life to bring joy to others and was such an incredible friend to me. I’m going to miss you damn mate.” Sheeran was “completely shocked”.
