It was a special delivery that Shanna Kress experienced on November 20, 2022. After announcing that one of her twins had Down’s syndrome, she and his companion Jonathan Matjias decided to resort to selective termination of pregnancy.

In July, the football player gave news of their child, who is finally born healthy last month. And on their YouTube channel, the two young parents shared this unique moment, which they wanted to keep positive despite the hardships.

Because the former reality TV candidate had to evacuate the body of the baby during childbirth. In a lengthy video discussing caesarean section, tearing and skin-to-skin, she specifically talked about the pain of this difficult moment lived with the father of her child.

If they did not consult each other, Jonathan Matijas and Shanna Kress both wanted to stay in the positive and focus on their newborn, Loüka. “We have been grieving for 6 months. We accepted, we cried […] We had sweet words, we sent him a lot of things, ”says the young dad about their deceased son. The mother adds by specifying: “We have not forgotten it but you have to mourn”.

If the former dancer understands that this may seem strange to Internet users, she shares the conviction of her spouse, who specifies: “We wanted it to be Loüka’s moment. We didn’t want to make him sad.” The couple didn’t want to make the infant feel negative emotions during “his” moment. Shanna did so didn’t want to see his twin.

Nevertheless, the young woman remembers a complicated moment to manage: “At one point, I remember that I had Loüka in my arms and that I said to myself, there was his twin anyway, that means that it would have been a second baby Loüka”, she says crying.

She concludes: “But that’s how it is, that’s life”. And the two parents continue on their little treasure and their joy of becoming a family.
