The children of basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal (49) cannot rest on their father’s fame. The athlete asked in an edition of the “Earn Your Leisure” podcast clear. “They are a little upset about it … So not really upset, but they don’t understand. I tell them all the time: ‘Not we are rich, I am rich’,” said the 49-year-old. Shaquille O’Neal became a star of the NBA in the ’90s. The 2.16 meter tall man played for Orlando Magic (1992-1996) and the Los Angeles Lakers (1996-2004), among others. According to the Celebrity Net Worth website he is said to have received $ 292 million in salary throughout his entire NBA career – an estimated $ 200 million in advertising deals are said to have come about over the same period. His net worth is said to be $ 400 million.
Extra income as a rapper and actor
But it wasn’t just as a professional athlete that O’Neal made the cash register ring. He also tried his hand at rapper, recording songs with The Notorious BIG (1972-1997) and Jay-Z (51). “Shaq” has five biological children. His eldest daughter Taahirah (25) comes from a relationship with the businesswoman Arnetta Yardbourgh. From 2002 to 2009 he was married to TV star Shaunie Nelson (46). Together they are the parents of son Shareef (21), daughter Amirah (19), son Shaqir (18) and daughter Me’arah (15). Nelson brought their son Myles, 24, who later took O’Neal’s last name into the marriage.
