Sharp increase in the AAH on April 1, here is the new amount paid by CAF

The social minima paid by the CAF or the MSA will be increased by 4.6% in April. In addition to the RSA, the adult disability allowance (AAH) is affected by this increase.

1.3 million CAF beneficiaries receive the adult disability allowance (AAH). Good news, this social assistance reserved for disabled people with low resources will soon be upgraded. Currently, the AAH has a maximum amount of 971.37 euros per month. From April 1, this ceiling will be increased by approximately 45 euros.

With a new expected amount of 1016 euros, the AAH will thus exceed the symbolic threshold of 1000 euros per month, full rate and for a single person. An increase which also concerns the Education Allowance for Disabled Children (AEEH) and the Daily Caregiver Allowance (AJPA).

The 4.6% increase in social minimums was announced in September by the Minister of the Economy and Finance, Bruno Le Maire, on X (formerly Twitter). It also concerns benefits such as the RSA or the activity bonus.

A small subtlety however. CAF allowances are paid in principle on the 5th of the month (except when the 5th falls on a weekend), for the previous month. Concretely, the first increased monthly payment of the AAH for the month of April will be paid on May 5 on the beneficiaries’ bank account

Note that some AAH beneficiaries have already obtained a clear increase in the AAH since last fall. 40,000 of them received an increase of 350 euros per month on average via the deconjugalization of the adult disability allowance. Since October 1, the AAH has been calculated without taking into account the spouse’s income.

A reform which allowed 15,000 people to receive the AAH, for an average gain of 559 euros as of October 31, according to calculations by the National Family Allowance Fund.

On the other hand, 15,000 AAH beneficiaries are threatened with losing part of their aid with the announced elimination of the specific solidarity allowance (ASS).
