Bose has just unveiled its new portable speaker, the SoundLink Max. The company promises a product that benefits “long battery life, foolproof longevity” and, most importantly,“incredible sound”.

The SoundLink Max uses Bose Articulated Array technology to deliver claimed powerful stereo sound via three transducers on the front. Custom-made passive radiators “provide a bass level of performance” unprecedented, according to the manufacturer. The distortion would be reduced for a full and natural sound, regardless of the musical genre listened to, specifies the firm specializing in audio.
According to Bose, all these features would allow “hear every instrument, enjoy crisp vocals and the rhythm of your music”. Regardless of the placement of the portable speaker, the manufacturer guarantees an optimal experience. The Bose application would allow you to adjust the bass, midrange and treble.
The Snapdragon Sound uses the latest Qualcomm aptX Adaptive codec for lossless sound quality, the technology making the connection smoother and stable with Android devices. Google Fast Pair is also supported by the SoundLink Max speaker.

A sort of SoundLink Flex boosted with hormones, the SoundLink Max portable speaker is said to resist shocks, falls and blows. The device does not chip, resists corrosion and UV rays, according to the company. Unsurprisingly, this model is also designed to be used near water, the edge of a swimming pool for example, thanks to its IP67 certification which demonstrates increased resistance against water and dust.
The speaker measures 26.5 cm wide, 12 cm high and 10.5 cm deep for a weight of 2 kg. Designed to be transportable with its integrated and removable handle, it is possible to add a rope carrying strap. Four colors are available for this accessory.
In terms of autonomy, Bose promises up to 20 hours of broadcasting. If necessary, the speaker also allows you to charge a smartphone via its USB-C port. The Bose SoundLink Max speaker is based on Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity and supports AAC and SBC codec standards. There is also a mini-jack input.
Price and availability
The SoundLink Max speaker will be marketed in June 2024 at a price of €449. Pre-orders will open on May 14 on the Bose website.
