Professor Chen’s Letter
Now, it is possible to start the quest allowing you to capture Shaymin in Pokémon Sparkling Diamond and Sparkling Pearl. If you received Professor Chen’s letter via the “mystery gift” function, it should tell you where to find the old man (route 224) in order to meet Shaymin and start the fight.
Know that you will first have to have defeated the Pokémon league and unlocked the national pokédex. The “mystery gift” function is unlocked by playing around 2 hours from a new game. So all you have to do is go hunting. Shaymin is a plant type and he will spawn here at level 30.
