And this Friday, March 25, he once again made a little joke in the voiceover of Don’t forget the lyrics. On the set, a candidate entertained the audience by performing the song When I see your eyes by Dany Brilliant. When finding the lyrics to this hit, and after explaining that she loves dancing as a couple with her spouse, she wanted to call on Cruella to find out the sentences that preceded the missing words. “Sure”first answered Nagui before launching: “Besides, she dances so badly!”
“I have the rhythm in my skin”, joked Cruella, who is used to being teased by the former host of Everyone wants to take his place. And Nagui to add: “Yes yes yes, but that’s a blood circulation problem”. A dialogue that greatly amused the public and the musicians of Don’t forget the lyrics! It must be said that the two have never hesitated to send small spikes during the show since the arrival of Cruella, in May 2016. For almost six years now, the voice-over of France 2 has delighted viewers and Nagui, of course. And if we never see her face, Cruella is actually called Gaëlle Leroy. The latter is co-producer of Don’t forget the lyrics with Nagui and two other people. She is a production assistant at Air Productions, a company created by Nagui in 1993.
Nagui: “She was born of an accident”
On the occasion of the broadcast of the 5,000th issue of Don’t forget the words, Nagui revealed to us a little secret about Cruella. “It was born from an accident. To validate the correct answers or repeat the previous sentences useful to the candidates, I wore a headset”told us the host of France 2. And to continue, revealing how the voice-over of the show had made its arrival in Don’t forget the lyrics: “Until the day when a technician, whom I never wish to meet again in my life, sent 1,000 hertz in my ears. It felt like a stab! Today, I I have tinnitus for life. Then I had someone on the team pick up a microphone and we ended up naming her Cruella.”.
