Aspiring Porsche model “Pops” McGregor-Sims died at the age of 27 on April 14, 2020. Her aggressive cervical cancer was not discovered until the day before.
Porsche “Pops” McGregor-Sims, a 27-year-old model from Petersfield, Hampshire died of a aggressive cervical cancer. The disease was diagnosed just the day before she died whenshe had several symptoms of bleeding and abdominal pain for months. The gynecologist she had consulted, Dr Schlesinger, did not find it useful to perform physical examinations of the patient despite the symptoms. The latter explained, as part of an investigation conducted in Portsmouth, that he equated the bleeding and abdominal pain hormonal symptoms.
According to Dr. Schlesinger’s explanation, the aspiring Porsche model McGregor-Sims had stopped her contraceptive injections about a year before his death. “Porsche had both menstrual bleeding and postcoital bleeding“, he said during the hearing. He felt that there could be several causes for these pains. “Since she had stopped her contraceptive treatment, I suggested that she resume it to see if the pain went away.“, he explained. In addition, Dr. Schlesinger did not consider it useful to do a vaginal exam since the model’s vaginal smear showed no abnormalities. According to Mirror, the first smear of Porsche McGregor-Sims dates from 2017. It did not reveal the presence of cancer cells.

McGregor-Sims’ mother Fiona Hawke has questioned the skills of Dr Schlesinger.
