According to her, she is the victim of unscrupulous resellers, who use her address to avoid having to pay the return costs, leaving her the responsibility of paying the invoice.
“I tremble when I see parcels at my door”. Anca Nitu certainly did not think to pronounce this sentence one day. However, this American must face the facts: she is the victim of a scam. To date, she has received at least 50 packages that are not addressed to her. Or rather, that she never ordered. All contain the same product: a pair of shoes.
The package does have his name on it. Each time, the package was sent by another American user, who obviously tried to return the package to the retailer. The situation is now turning into a nightmare for Anca Nitu, who must not find where to store all these shoes, but also manage conflicts with UPS, which asks her for no less than 300 dollars in delivery costs.

Unscrupulous dealers use fake address to evade return fees
If nothing yet allows us to affirm it with certainty, Anca Nitu is probably the victim of unscrupulous dealers. As the Better Business Bureau (BBB), American equivalent of UFC-Que Choisir, points out, many merchants do not hesitate to use a false address, at least a random address, for receiving parcel returns.
Indeed, you should know that resellers must pay delivery costs when a product is returned to them. By indicating a false address, they avoid the invoice… which then ends up in the hands of the unfortunate person who does indeed live at the said address. “I refused to pay and the dispute with UPS is still ongoing”, continues Anca Nitu. For now, the situation is still far from being resolved, and it continues to receive packages at its door.
