A few months after his hospitalization in intensive care, Madonna is back on stage for the “Celebration Tour”, retracing the forty years of his career. On Monday, November 13, the queen of pop lit up the Accor Hotel Arena in Paris for the second consecutive date. For more than two hours, the singer ensured an exceptional show in front of some 20,000 people. During her concert, Madonna, however, made a point of making tribute to the victims of the Bataclan attackseight years after these terrible events.
“It is important for me to remember that eight years ago to the day, a terrorist attack hit the Bataclan, at the Eagles of Death Metal concert. This is a tragic event”, she declared, moved, in front of her audience. And this is not the only tribute she wanted to pay since November 13 also a very special symbolism for the singer. In mourning, she learned some very sad news the same day.

In 2008, while she was married to Guy Ritchie, Madonna decided toadopt a little boy named David Banda from an orphanage in Malawi. The day of his adoption, the singer found him in the arms of Wizzy, a young girl aged eight. Unfortunately, the latter died of AIDS. News that shocked the singer. She thus had a tender thought for her. “I’m sad. He was an adorable being, a true angel. Without her, I wouldn’t have had David in my life”, emphasized Madonna.
The singer then continued by saying a poignant speech. “Do you feel hopeless? Do you feel helpless? This is bullshit, Madonna said. And I’m here to tell you why. Each and every one of you has a light within you. […] Are you with me, Paris? Our light will overcome the darkness. When we are united, there is nothing we cannot accomplish”, she continued, before singing the first notes of I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor.
A year after her son, Madonna decided to adopt a daughter, Mercy James. The pop star already had two children, Lourdes and Rocco, from two previous relationships. In 2017, the singer once again went to Malawi to adopt two little girls, twins aged four, named Esther and Stella.
