She thought it was a nettle or insect sting, she ended up with a brain tumor and died 1 month later

A year ago, Mark Smith lost his wife, Cecilia Keefe, then 52 years old. Involved with The Brain Tumor Charity, he helps seek funding for brain tumor awareness. Cecilia Keefe was a mother of two children. She began to feel tingling in her left wrist, and, in the midst of working on her vegetable garden, thought she had been stung by a nettle or an insect. However, the feeling spread. In view symptoms : tingling, numbness, pain, the possibility of carpal tunnel syndrome is advanced during the first diagnosis.

The first diagnosis was not the right one

The following April 12, the forty-year-old had an appointment with a physiotherapist, and her condition had already deteriorated. Indeed, the symptoms had spread to his left leg and his weakened arm. Two days later, she could no longer get out of bed. The first diagnosis was therefore not the correct one. New tests were carried out and a second one was performed: Cecilia suffered from a brain tumor.

Treatment was given to him but he only had around ten months to live. Her husband then spoke about his state of health to The Sun, and explained: “In the space of six weeks, Cecilia went from perfectly healthy to unable to walk, bathe or dress herself.”, did he declare. He took matters into his own hands by organizing his wife’s daily life, and she died in hospital alongside her family.

Mark Smith has since been involved with The Brain Tumor Charity.

Following the loss of his wife, Mark Smith decided to get involved with The Brain Tumor Charity. This charity works to fund research, raise awareness of brain tumors and reduce diagnosis times. An essential fight for this husband, who wishes to pay tribute to his wife and help people suffering from this illness. According to The Sun, he has already raised more than 10,000 pounds for the association.

A great way to continue his wife’s fight, and to ensure that we advance a little further in research related to this disease, which Mark Smith was confronted with through the death of his wife.
