On the forum, the future mother explains the reasons which pushed her to choose the first name for her future child. Passionate about Asian culture, and Korean culture in particular, the young woman explains that she wanted to choose a first name from a Korean pop celebrity, better known by fans as K-pop. A phenomenon that goes far beyond the borders of South Korea. “I dream of my child growing up doing these happy little dances that Koreans love to do”writes the Internet user at the head of the account SnapdragonCookie on the forum before adding: “I always loved these kpop people and the name “Fok Gyu” sounds so Asian and exotic.”
After submitting her idea to her husband, she was surprised by his reaction, while the future father of the family was resistant to the idea of calling their child that. “He says it sounds bad and that he’s going to be insulted, but I think Asians are already insulted in America, so we don’t care,” said the Internet user.
