Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed elected President of the United Arab Emirates


CAIRO (Reuters) – The Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates on Saturday elected Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan as its president, state news agency WAM reported.

Nicknamed “MBZ”, he succeeds his half-brother Sheikh Khalifa ben Zayed al Nahyane, whose death was announced on Friday.
