Series Shin megami tensei took its time before arriving in the West, but with the popularity of its spin-off saga, Persona, it now enjoys a nice influence around the world (although still little known to the general public). Thanks to a simultaneous worldwide release, Shin Megami Tensei V was therefore entitled to a good launch, with good sales figures.
The million is almost here
The Persona Central site therefore tells us that Atlus’ latest game sold 800,000 copies in a few weeks, which is quite a performance compared to the fourth episode. Throughout his life, Shin Megami Tensei IV (released on Nintendo 3DS) sold 600,000 copies, which clearly shows the enthusiasm for the fifth episode.
It should normally hit one million copies sold within a few days or weeks, and go much higher if rumors of a PS4 – PC port hold true.
