It was even before the launch of the Switch in 2017 that a teaser indicated the development of a new episode for the latter. We then had to wait until October of the same year to discover that it was Shin Megami Tensei V. Fans then had to wait until July 2020 and the broadcast of a Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase to see it again, while its release only took place in November 2021. In recent days, a certain Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance described as a complete edition with additional content had been seen in South Korea, but without further details. However, we did not have to wait long for its officialization, which took place this Wednesday.

It is in fact during the Partner Showcase thatAtlus has made it official Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance on Switchbut everyone will be entitled to it since it is also expected on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC (Steam and Windows) on June 21, 2024 ! It will therefore be the ultimate version of the RPG including the original story already known to players, but a brand new one with the theme of revenge and which will offer many new things, starting with the demons. Its very first trailer notably highlights the demons Qadištu with an absolutely crazy design and a new human ally named Yoko Hiromine. An extended trailer has also been posted online in the Mishima language.

THE gameplay will be more accessible, with an improved combat system, which means that there is something to be excited about. A physical edition is also planned, at least on the console of Nintendo. You can find the general synopsis of the game below.
A grisly murder in present-day Toyko prevents the protagonist from returning home, forcing him to take an unforeseen detour, which will leave him lost and unconscious… He then wakes up in an apocalyptic place, called Da’at. Attacked by bloodthirsty demons, he is saved at the last minute by a stranger with whom he unites to become a powerful being, neither human nor demon: a Nahobino.
Whether you’re new to the universe or not, Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance will give you the most complete RPG experience. At the start of the game, you will have the choice between two paths: that of the original game, the path of creation, or the all-new path of revenge. This new revenge story introduces new characters, a mysterious cohort of demons, the Qadištu, a new dungeon and a new map to explore. Demon fusion, exploration, and the original combat system from Shin Megami Tensei V have been enhanced especially for this installment.
