Short sales: ABC Bourse launches new tools to monitor short positions

ABC Bourse unveils new features around the monitoring and analysis of short sales on the Paris market. As a reminder, investors must declare their net short positions in French shares to the Financial Markets Authority (AMF), as long as they exceed 0.50% of the capital. It is this information that we recover and offer you sorted and prioritized for analysis.

After offering daily monitoring of short sales, and value by value detail, we now offer two complementary tools which allow you to have an overall view of short sales. New tools that you won’t find anywhere else.

The list of short sales

A table which presents the strongest increases or decreases in “short” positions over several periods: week, month or quarter. You can see at a glance where the sellers are concentrated and on the contrary where they release their prey.

Overall sales in Paris

A new tool allows you to see the total position of short sellers in Paris, calculated on a day-to-day basis. At the time of writing these lines it is around 4 billion euros. This series presented as an index can be added to your charts and compared with indices such as the CAC 40 or values.

You can also access this new short sales index on its dedicated page, like any stock.

Finally, you access this short sales (VAD) page from the home page where the list of VADs is present. Or directly on this link to the short sales tracking page.
